As a leader in the security industry, Genesis has shown itself to be a pioneer with innovative programs such as its Free 24 Hour Community Patrol, the first in Canada. In this we have not only shown our unique approach to security but a dedication to creating a better community for everyone.
Genesis Security originally launched the Free Community Patrol Program on June 1st 2005 around the neighbourhood of Kerrisdale. Patrolling 25 square blocks that ran from West Boulevard to Dunbar and South from 33rd Avenue to 49th Avenue.
As the program grew and neighbourhoods continued to support the Free Community Patrol Program more funds were re-invested into it, allowing us to offer this free patrol service to more areas around Vancouver.
As of October 1st 2007, we have tripled the size of the program. The Free Community Patrol now covers almost all Vancouver residences and businesses West of Granville Street as well as the Downtown and West End areas (see map for details). Our decision to make this expansion comes from our vision and commitment to the community. With our continual dedication to this program we look to eventually patrol all of Vancouver.
Genesis Security Group offers a variety of home and business security services, but the community patrol guards will respond at anytime, at no cost, to anyone who requires security assistance in the patrolled communities.
Community Patrol Awareness Program - Our Community Patrol drivers are trained to do the the following:
- Service everyone in the Community Patrol district
- Keep the community safe and patrol every street on their district
- Look for suspicious activity
- Identify criminal activity and report it to the police
- Respond to Community Patrol emergency calls
- Help anyone they see in need
- Be visible and deter criminal activity
